The first arriving engine had heavy black smoke coming from the first floor windows of the three story dwelling in the north end of town. West Bacon St Plainville 10-24-09 : An early morning fire destroyed a one and a half story home on West Bacon St in Plainville 10-24-09. Plainville Fire Department received a call around seven o'clock for a fire in the area of Heather Hill golf course. En route to the fire the first responding engine reported seeing smoke from a distance away. Upon arrival the first company found heavy fire in the rear of the 20x30 cape style structure. The fire appears to have started in an attached garage before quickly moving into the main structure and the roof area. Firefighters were able to quickly search the home, which is occupied, but found no one. Due to intense heat, smoke and the quickly moving fire firefighters were forced to attack the fire from the exterior of the home. It was determined that the occupant of the home has been out of town for a few months, no injures reported. Firefighters are still on scene at press time, and the fire is under investigation. All photos are for sale. The prices are as follows, 5x7 $10, 8x10 $20, 11x14 $30, and 16x20 $45. Other sizes can be available. Walnut St Plainville 5-26-09 : Plainville- Plainville fire department responded to a fire at 75 Walnut St at 8:45 pm on Tuesday night. The 911 call came from a neighbor of the residence. Upon arrival firefighters had heavy fire showing from a bed room window and the roof above the bed room of the single story ranch home. Plainville firefighters made a valliant effort to save the home however due to the lack of firehydrants in the area were quickly pulled out of the building by Fire Leuitenet JR Skinner. Firefighters ran out of water several times before a water supply could be established from a considerable distance away. Due to the lack of water supply in the area the fire quickly spread while frustrated firefighters from Plainville, North Attleboro, Wrentham and Norfolk could only stand by and watch as the fire engulfed the home. Several people were home at the time of the blaze, however no one was injured and every one made it out safely. Foxboro fire covered the Plainville fire house during the incident.

420 N Washington St : At 11:50 pm July 6, 2009 North Attleboro police and fire responded to an accident involving a truck hitting a utility pole. Upon arrival of emergency crews they found that a pickup truck had struck a utility pole, a fire hydrant and then crashed through the residence at 420 North Washington St sparking a fire in the basement. When fire crews tried to establish a water supply from the closest hydrant they relized it was rendered useless because it had become part of the vehicle as you will see. No injuries were reported from the sole occupant of the truck, and seven people were home at the time of the crash all of which escaped unharmed. Most of the fire was contained to the engine compartment of the truck and some extension to the house. Fire crews made a quick stop.
